PATNA (Metro Rail News): Shri Jibesh Kumar, Minister of Urban Development and Housing Department (UDHD), inspected the Metro Depot and the Zero Mile Metro Station of Patna Metro on 3 August 2025.
During the visit to the Depot, the Minister examined the advanced rolling stock and acquired insights into the specialized facilities designed for their operation and maintenance.

At the Zero Mile Metro Station, he evaluated the passenger-centric design, which features safety systems, accessibility enhancements, and modern infrastructure intended to facilitate a smooth and comfortable passenger experience.
The Patna Metro Project is an under-construction Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) planned for the city of Patna, Bihar. Phase 1 encompasses two corridors and a total of 24 stations.

Furthermore, in July 2025, the first 3-coach train for Patna Metro was dispatched. This advancement follows the Bihar Government’s approval for the rental of a three-car single train set from Pune Metro for a period of three years.
On July 15, 2025, the Bihar Cabinet sanctioned ₹21.15 crore for the procurement of this 3-coach trainset from Pune Metro, aimed at commencing services on the priority corridor of the Patna Metro Rail Project.
