Bhopal ( Metro Rail News): The Bhopal Metro project progressed as Kalpataru Projects International Ltd. (KPIL) – Gulermak JV started pouring concrete to cast the first batch of tunnel ring segments for the underground Package BH-04 of Orange Line. The Bhopal Metro’s Orange Line ( Line 2) spans 14.99 km from Karond Circle to AIIMS, covering 16 stations.
This tunnel ring segment will be utilised for constructing twin tunnels, which comes under package BH-04
Package BH-04
The Package BH-04 spans 3.39 km connecting ramp south of Sindhi Colony Station with a ramp west of Aish Bagh Crossing Station through 2 underground stations.

This is the first and only underground package of the Bhopal Metro Phase 1 project, which spans 27.87 km
In March 2024, Kalpataru Projects International Ltd. (KPIL) – Gulermak JV bagged Package BH-04 from Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MPMRCL) at Rs. 769 crore.
Funding: The construction work of this package will be financed by the €400 million (approx. Rs. 3584 crore) loan signed in December 2019 by the European Investment Bank (EIB).
Bhopal Metro Hits Track for Trial Run between Rani Kamlapati and AIIMS Station
The Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited has successfully conducted inaugural trial run between the Rani Kamlapati and AIIMS stations along the Priority Corridor of the Bhopal Metro project.
This achievement highlights the organisation’s dedication to advancing the corridor’s readiness for commercial operations.
