CHENNAI (Metro Rail News): On April 24, 2023, CMRL (Chennai Metro Rail Limited) was presented with the esteemed International Green World Award at a ceremony in Miami, Florida. The Green World Awards are one of the world’s most esteemed environmental award programmes.

The Green World Award represents the CMRL’s recognition and commitment to its positive environmental impact.

CMRL has adopted various environmentally friendly initiatives and a sustainable model that aims to minimize the environmental impacts during construction and operations on the environment while providing a reliable, comfortable, safe, and fast travelling experience to our passengers and the people of Chennai.

Reducing energy usage, carbon emissions, and overall operating expenses helps to improve energy efficiency and water management. These programmes ultimately helped to lower greenhouse gas emissions.
