Chennai Metro makes masks mandatory amid spike in covid cases

CHENNAI (Metro Rail News): Chennai Metro Corporation Limited (CMRL) has made wearing face masks mandatory in Chennai Metro Train and its Premises from today amid a recent surge in covid cases in the state.

“Due to recent surge in COVID-19 cases in Chennai, CMRL would like to announce that wearing a face mask in Chennai Metro premises and Metro Trains is mandatory with effect from 07.07.2022 to control the spread of COVID-19,” a press release from CMRL stated.

“It is mandatory to wear face masks at metro station premises and inside metro trains. Passengers are requested to co-operate in maintaining social distance while waiting and travelling in Metro Train,” the release stated.
