Pune Metro Rails arrives from Siberia

PUNE (Metro Rail News): The first freight carrying rails which were meant for Pune Metro arrived in the city today. The head – hardened rails of UIC60 E1, 1080 Grade with 25m and 18m are used. They were unloaded at kharalwadi.

the Pune Metro Rail Project requires (reach 1 & 2) is 9,000 metric tonnes. Process of laying the rails on the 4.5km elevated stretch that is ready and will now begin. The rail has arrived from the Siberia Workshop of Swiss-based East Metals AG.

 MAHA Metro, a SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) of Government of India and Government of Maharashtra has undertaken the Pune Metro Rail project. Metro rail track will run from PCMC Building in Pimpri to Swargate. The 16.59-km line will be elevated till Range Hills with 9 stations and will further go underground up to Swargate with 5 stations.
