கொல்கத்தா (மெட்ரோ ரயில் செய்திகள்): சாலைகள், பாலங்கள் மற்றும் பிற பொது இடங்களின் பெயர்களை மாற்றுவதற்கான திட்டங்களை ஆராயும் மேற்கு வங்க அரசாங்கத்தின் குழு இப்போது கொல்கத்தா மெட்ரோ நிலையங்களையும் ஆய்வு செய்ய திட்டமிட்டுள்ளது.
நேதாஜி பவன் மெட்ரோ நிலையம் பரிசீலிக்கப்படும் நிலையங்களில் ஒன்றாகும். நேதாஜி பவன் அதிகாரப்பூர்வமாக மறுபெயரிடப்படவில்லை. இந்த கட்டத்தில் நிலையத்தின் பெயர் மட்டுமே குழுவால் பரிசீலனையில் உள்ளது. மகாநாயக் உத்தம் குமார் நிலையத்தின் பெயரை மாற்றுவது குறித்தும் அவர்கள் பரிசீலித்து வருகின்றனர்.
இரண்டு நிலையங்களும் கொல்கத்தா மெட்ரோவின் ப்ளூ லைனில் அமைந்துள்ளன, மேலும் அவை பவானிபூர் பகுதி (நேதாஜி பவன்) மற்றும் டோலிகஞ்ச் (மகாநாயக் உத்தம் குமார் நிலையம்) ஆகியவற்றில் அமைந்துள்ளன.
முதலில் பவானிபூர் என்று அழைக்கப்பட்ட நேதாஜி பவன், பின்னர் "நேதாஜி பவன்" என்று மறுபெயரிடப்பட்டது, இது நேதாஜி சுபாஷ் சந்திர போஸின் மூதாதையர் வீடு மற்றும் நினைவுச்சின்னத்திற்கு அருகாமையில் இருப்பதை பிரதிபலிக்கிறது.

டைம்ஸ் ஆஃப் இந்தியாவின் அறிக்கையின்படி, மூத்த பாஜக செயல்பாட்டாளரும் குழுவின் உறுப்பினருமான திரு ததகதா ராய், "பயணிகளிடையே குழப்பத்தைத் தவிர்ப்பதற்காக பிரபல நபர்களின் பெயரிடப்பட்ட மெட்ரோ நிலையங்களை அவற்றின் இருப்பிடங்களின் அடிப்படையில் மறுபெயரிட அவர் முன்மொழிவார். நேதாஜி பவன் மற்றும் மகாநாயக் உத்தமகுமார் நிலையங்கள் முறையே போவானிபூர் மற்றும் டோலிகஞ்ச் என்ற அவற்றின் அசல் பெயர்களுக்கு மாற்றப்பட வேண்டும் என்று அவர் விரும்புகிறார்.
எல்கின் சாலையில் உள்ள நேதாஜி சுபாஷ் சந்திர போஸின் மூதாதையர் இல்லத்திற்கு அருகில் நேதாஜி பவன் நிலையம் இல்லை என்றும், போவானிபூர் என்ற வட்டாரப் பெயரைப் பயன்படுத்துவது ரயில் நிலையத்தை பயணிகள் எளிதில் அடையாளம் காண உதவும் என்றும் ஸ்ரீராய் வாதிட்டார்.
ஹேமந்த் முகோபாத்யாய் (ரூபி கிராஸிங்), ஜோதிரிந்திரா நந்தி (முகுந்தபூர் கிராஸிங்), ஸ்வப்னோ போர் (நியூ டவுன்) ஆகிய பெயர்களை மாற்றவும் அவர் முன்மொழிந்தார். இவை மூன்றும் கொல்கத்தா மெட்ரோ ஆரஞ்சு பாதையில் உள்ளன, இது பாதை முடிந்ததும் நியூ காரியாவை விமான நிலையத்துடன் இணைக்க திட்டமிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.
ஆரஞ்சு வழித்தடத்தில் உள்ள பேலேகட்டா மெட்ரோ நிலையத்தின் பெயர் குறித்தும் திரு ராய் கேள்வி எழுப்பினார். பெலேகாட்டா நிலையம் உண்மையில் பிரதான பெலேகாட்டா பகுதியிலிருந்து தொலைவில் உள்ள ஈ. எம் பைபாஸில் பெருநகரத்தைச் சுற்றி அமைந்துள்ளது என்று அவர் கூறினார்.
மறுபெயரிடும் குழுவின் தலைவர் திரு சுவாமி பிரதீப்தானந்தா, முன்மொழியப்பட்ட மாற்றங்கள் அரசியல் காரணங்களுக்காக அல்ல, பயணிகளின் சிரமங்களை நிவர்த்தி செய்வதை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டவை என்று குறிப்பிட்டார்.
இவை பெயர் மாற்றக் குழுவின் உறுப்பினரின் முன்மொழிவுகள், நிலையத்தின் பெயர் மாற்றங்களுக்கு ஒப்புதல் அளிக்கப்படவில்லை. 10 பேர் கொண்ட குழு துர்கா பூஜைக்குப் பிறகு அதன் முறையான பணியைத் தொடங்கும் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது, சாலையின் மறுபெயரிடல் திட்டங்கள் முதலில் எடுக்கப்படுவதாக கூறப்படுகிறது.

Finally some sense. Who on earth will know where Barun sengupta station is ? Please rename all the stations according to the location . I absolutely agree with this decision.
I completely agree with the suggestion of naming metro stations as per the names of locations which are known. How does it sound when I ask at the counter “give me two Mahanayak Uttam Kumar” or “three Satyajit Ray”! Does it show any respect to these persons? Or I ask “Khudiram Bose is after how many stations?”
I am also agreed with the proposal for renaming of metro stations as per locations. It will be helpful for the commuters.
In fact all such metro station names like Kavi Subhas, Shahid Khudiram, Kavi Nazrul, Masterda Surya Sen, Gitanjali which are also on Blue Line should be changed to be more clear about the location or locality. This will make it easier for commuters. Honouring eminent personalities is good and necessary but the method is absurd.
There are thousands of commuters who aren’t commuting daily. They face a lot of problem in deciphering where they have to deboard.

It’s a very good decision for giving an appropriate shape of Metro stations inconsideration of the respective locations.
Yes instead of naming the stations to some legendary persons it’s better to name stations based on the location. It’s easier to identify. All the metro stations should be renamed back to their specific locations and not attributed to some personalities.

Renaming as per location/locality is practical and very much necessary for the benefit of commuters.
I totally agree with the renaming of metro stations according to the locations. This lifts up immense confusion among commuters who are not regular metro users. Every metro station should be named after their respective location names.

Know The station name’s are non practical / assumed/ confusion
One has to think & ask different public for the particular Station that which station for which locality.
Which often creates Huge Que in front of Ticket windows.
All The Metro Stations in & around Kolkata should be named accordingly as per the Locality/ area commonly known.

Stations name must be in the name of the locality. It sounds very funny, when some one asked for tickets saying give me to satyajit, one uttamkumar etc. etc. it is most disrespectful. Imagin when you are out side bengal, if the stations names are given as per the greatan of those states. Will it not be very confusing. What a tremendous idea this was!!!!!!!!!!

I also agree with the new proposal for renaming of the metro stations. In this regard I request to change the name of the metro stations on the road of Eastern Bye Pass such as (1) Barun Sengupta (2) Gour Kisshore Ghosh etc. etc. These names should be changed in the name of local areas.

Locations should be the basis of naming a station. Else a day might come when our future generations will not know the history and greatness of the old locations like Jorasankor, Bhabanipur, Kumortuli
etc. Let’s not add to the list of forgotten habitations like Sutanutis.
