Mumbai Metro Line 2A (Yellow Line)

Operational Operator: Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL) operates the line; MMRDA owns it Length: 18.6 km Since: 02/04/2022 Updated: Official site ↗

As of 19 Oct 2026, Mumbai Metro Line 2A (Yellow Line) is operational (since 2 Apr 2022). Latest news: 28 Oct 2026.

Mumbai Metro Line 2A, the Yellow Line, is an 18.6 km elevated corridor with 17 stations from Dahisar (East) to Andheri (West) at D.N. Nagar, running along Link Road through Borivali, Kandivali, Malad and Goregaon. MMMOCL operates it for owner MMRDA. It opened in two stages and has been fully operational since January 2023. Fares start at ₹10.

Why it matters

Line 2A gives the western suburbs a north to south rail option that runs parallel to the crowded Western Railway suburban line and the Link Road and S.V. Road corridors. At Dahisar (East) it meets Line 7 and, since April 2026, Line 9 towards Mira-Bhayandar, and at D.N. Nagar it links with Line 1 to Ghatkopar. It will also form the western end of the planned Line 2B to Mandale, making the Yellow Line a cross-suburb route.
