Kochi Water Metro
Kochi Water Metro is an operational network of electric hybrid ferries connecting Kochi’s islands and waterways to the mainland, run by Kochi Water Metro Limited with Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) handling operations. 15 routes across 10 terminals are live today, covering over 75 km of waterways. Its routes, terminals and latest updates are below.
Commercial services began on 26 April 2023 with the Vypin–High Court route, and the network has since carried over 7.6 million cumulative passengers. When complete, Kochi Water Metro will span 76 km across 38 terminals and 16 routes, targeting 1.5 lakh daily riders by 2035 — India’s first metro-scale urban ferry system.
