Ghaziabad–Jewar RRTS

Proposed Operator: National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) Length: 72 km Official site ↗

The Ghaziabad-Jewar corridor is a proposed 72 km Regional Rapid Transit line planned to connect Ghaziabad and Greater Noida with the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar. Envisioned by the NCRTC under the RRTS programme, it would give the NCR’s newest airport a dedicated high-speed regional rail link and tie the eastern NCR growth nodes into the wider RRTS network.

The line is planned in two phases: Ghaziabad-Kasna with seven stations, and Kasna-Jewar Airport with four, threading the Yamuna Expressway industrial and institutional development.

Why it matters

This corridor is transit planned ahead of demand – built to shape where the NCR’s next wave of airport-led growth lands, rather than to serve existing density. Whether it is delivered in step with the Jewar airport’s phasing is a live test of how well India synchronises major infrastructure across agencies and state lines.
