KEC-Siemens JV emerged lowest bidder for Kolkata Metro Line-3 & Line-6 Electrification Contracts

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL) opened the financial bids for both contracts for which tenders were invited in November 2020 and technical bids were revealed on 02nd February 2021 in which Larsen & Toubro and KEC-Siemens JV placed bid for both contracts

KOLKATA, (Metro Rail News): KEC International Limited- Siemens emerged as the lowest bidder for two contracts related to the supply and commissioning of 33 KV power distributions and 750 V DC third rail traction systems for the Kolkata Metro Line-3 and Line-6.

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL) opened the financial bids for both contracts for which tenders were invited in November 2020 and technical bids were revealed on 02nd February 2021 in which Larsen & Toubro and KEC-Siemens JV placed bid for both contracts

Package-3

This includes Line-3 electrification from Joka to Majerhat section and Line-6 from Hemendra Mukherjee to Bidhannagar section.

  • Bid Price quoted by KEC-Siemens JV – INR 241 crore
  • Bid Price quoted by Larsen & Toubro – INR 303 crore
  • Estimated Cost of Project: INR 258.25 crore
  • Period of Completion: 24 Months

Scope of work – Engineering, Supply, Erection, Testing and Commissioning of 33 KV Power Distribution, Traction Substation, Auxiliary Substations and 750 V DC Third Rail Traction system for Joka-Majerhat Corridor (Mominpur) and Airport-New Garia Corridor (Hemendra Mukherjee(Excl.) to Bidhannagar of Metro Railway Kolkata.

Package-4

This includes Line-6 electrification from Bidhannagar to Biman Bandar section along with New Town Depot electrification

  • Bid Price quoted by KEC-Siemens JV – INR 295 crore
  • Bid Price quoted by Larsen & Toubro – INR 373 crore
  • Estimated Cost of Project: INR 314.65 crore
  • Period of Completion: 30 Months

Scope of work – Engineering, Supply, Erection, Testing and Commissioning of 33 KV Power Distribution, Traction Substation, Auxiliary Substations and 750 V DC Third Rail Traction system for Airport-New Garia Corridor Bidhannagar (Excl.)- Bimanbandar including New Town Depot of Metro Railway Kolkata.

Now the bids will be sent for final evaluation to award the contracts in the form Letter of Acceptance and KEC-Siemens JV is most likely to bag both the contracts.
