The 19th Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference and Expo 2026 is the flagship annual urban transport event of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India. This edition will be held on 23 and 24 October 2026 at Hotel Mayfair Sanctuary, Bhubaneswar, making Odisha the first state in eastern India to host UMI. The theme is “Urban Accessibility and Liveability in the Digital Age”.
The event is organised by the Institute of Urban Transport (India) together with Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), Bhubaneswar. Held every year since 2008 under the National Urban Transport Policy, UMI brings together state and city officials, metro and bus operators, urban local bodies, industry, academia and international experts working on urban transport.
What the event covers
- Conference: conclave, technical, round-table and plenary sessions on urban transport policy and best practice. Awards for excellence in urban transport are presented across 10 categories.
- Exhibition: the expo opens at 11:30 on 23 October and showcases urban transport technology, systems and projects, with country, state and city pavilions and a zone for mobility startups recognised by DPIIT.
- Research Symposium: four parallel sessions on 24 October presenting current urban transport research from academia and research institutes, with a focus on postgraduate and PhD researchers.

National delegate fees include lunch and the conference kit. An early-bird discount of 10% applies to delegate and exhibitor bookings made up to 15 October 2026, and a limited number of fee waivers are available to IUT members on a first-come, first-served basis.
