Pune (Metro Rail News): Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. has invited bids for the track work contract of Pune Metro’s Purple Line’s extension from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to Nigdi.

About Pune Metro’s Purple Line
Operational route: Currently, the Purple Line of Pune Metro is operational from PCMC to Civil Court spanning 16.6 km through 13 stations.
- The track work under this contract will be executed for Purple Line’s northern extension from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to Nigdi (under construction) which spans 4.519 km through 5 stations.

- The Purple Line’s extension from Civil Court to Swargate spanning 3.3 km featuring 3 new stations became operational in September 2024.
- Another extension of the Purple Line between Swargate and Katraj spans 5.464 km via 3 stations.
