Thiruvananthapuram Light Metro is an approved light rail transit system for Kerala’s capital, with a first phase of about 31 km and 27 stations cleared by the state government. Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) is the implementing agency.
The route is planned to link major hubs including Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, the Thampanoor KSRTC stand and railway station, the Secretariat and the Government Medical College. Preparatory works, including flyovers at Sreekariyam, Ulloor and Pattom, are under way, with the first phase set to begin in the 2025-26 period.
