Bhubaneswar Metro is a 26.024 km elevated mass rapid transit line under construction in Odisha’s capital, connecting Trisulia Square with Biju Patnaik International Airport through 20 stations. The Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC) is building the line with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) as turnkey consultant.
The Odisha government approved the Detailed Project Report on 14 November 2023 at an estimated cost of ₹5,926 crore, and the foundation stone was laid on 1 January 2024. Civil works are in progress, with the corporation targeting completion by the end of 2027 and passenger services from 2028.
