AHMEDABAD (Metro Rail News): Following the Union Cabinet approval for the Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2B, Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Ltd. has floated a civil tender for carrying out the construction, E&M and finishing works of the project. Phase 2B will cover a 3.3-km elevated extension from GIFT City to Shahpur through 3 stations with an objective to facilitate connectivity between GIFT City and the main Gandhinagar-Ahmedabad line.

About Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2B
The 3.33km Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2B will be built as an extension of Ahmedabad Metro’s North-South corridor, linking GIFT City (Gujarat International Finance Tec-City) in Gandhinagar to Shahpur. The project gained momentum after the Union Cabinet’s approval in February. Initially, this extension is expected to serve over 23,000 daily passengers, with rising figures to 58,000 daily passengers by 2041 as GIFT City’s commercial ecosystem matures.
