BANGALORE (Metro Rail News): Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) reveals its plan for a 250-metre skywalk connecting the Yellow and Blue line Metro, a crucial link between two of Bengaluru’s major Metro networks. It will feature the first travelator installation within Namma Metro.

This development will ease the longstanding traffic congestion issue at the Central Silk Board Junction. Construction of three out of five ramps at the junction is expected to be completed by the end of May, easing traffic for vehicles travelling from Jayanagar-BTM Layout towards HSR Layout and Electronics City.

BMRCL says completing these new ramps will ease congestion due to the heavy traffic flow of Silk Road Junction at the intersection of Outer Ring Road and Hosur Road.

Also, the process of building India’s tallest sky deck has started as the civic agency Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has initiated issuing tenders for Detailed Project Reports (DPR) to estimate the construction cost of the ambitious 250-meter-long sky deck.

NGEF Byappanahalli near the Byappanahalli metro station and the Soap Factory in Yeshwanthpur are identified as two potential locations for the project.
