MIA Construction Gets LoA for Architectural Finishing Contract for Delhi Metro Phase 4

DELHI (Metro Rail News): MIA Construction has received Letter of Acceptance (LoA) worth ₹68 Cr from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for the architectural finishing contract of Delhi Metro Phase 4’s Golden Line (Line 10).The Golden Line of Delhi Metro spans 23.622 km between Aerocity and Tughlakabad featuring 15 stations.

DMRC invited bids for this contract with a 450 Days deadline. Technical bids were opened on 25 June 2025, revealing that 10 firms have submitted bids for the contract. Technical evaluation of the submitted bids took place on 29 August 2025. During the technical evaluation round 3 firms’ bids got rejected. 

Financial bids for the contract were opened on 29 August 2025. Financial evaluation of the technically qualified bids occurred on 10 September 2025. During the financial evaluation round 6 firms bid got rejected announcing MIA Construction as the lowest bidder for the contract.

3 firms Qualify for Electrification Contract D2E-12 of Delhi Metro Phase 4

DELHI ( Metro Rail News): 3 firms bids have been qualified for the electrification contract D2E-12 of Delhi Metro Phase 4’s Line 10 and Line 5 extension. The Line 10 of Delhi Metro spans 23.622 km connecting Aerocity and Tuglakabad featuring 15 stations, while the Line 5 extension spans 12.58 km between Inderlok and Indraprastha through 10 stations. 

In June 2025, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) invited bids for this contract. Technical bids were opened on 4 Aug 2025 revealing that 4 firms have submitted bids for the contract. However, during the technical evaluation round one firm’s bids were rejected.

Central Govt. Approves Doubling of Bhagalpur–Dumka–Rampurhat Railway Line at ₹3,169 cr

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the doubling of the Bhagalpur–Dumka–Rampurhat railway line, covering 177 km across Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal, at a cost of ₹3,169 crore on 10 September, 2025. 

According to Indian Railways, this project will enhance line capacity, improving mobility, operational efficiency, and service reliability, while also easing congestion on one of the busiest sections of the network.

Developed under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, the project emphasizes integrated planning, multi-modal connectivity, and stakeholder consultations to boost logistics and transport efficiency. 

The project will expand the rail network by an additional 177 km, spanning across five districts in the three states and will directly benefit around 28.72 lakh people in 441 villages, including three prominent Districts—Banka, Godda, and Dumka. 

The project will also strengthen rail connectivity to key pilgrim and tourist destinations such as Deoghar’s Baba Baidyanath Dham and Tarapith Shakti Peeth, thereby supporting both regional development and cultural tourism.

MMRDA Invites Bids for Package 2/CA-295 of Mumbai Metro Line 4 & 4A

The Line 4 of Mumbai Metro spans 35.3 km from Wadala to Kasarvadavali featuring 32 stations. Line 4A is the extension of  of Line 4 which spans  2.7 km from Kasarvadavali to Gaimukh through 2 stations.

Keolis to Operate Pune Metro Line 3 for 10 Years

PUNE (Metro Rail News): Pune IT City Metro Rail Ltd. (PITCMRL), a joint venture between Tata and Siemens, has awarded a 10-year contract to Keolis. Under this contract, Keolis will operate Pune Metro Line 3 for 10 years.

Pune Metro Line-3, also known as the Puneri Metro, is an under construction metro corridor which spans 23.3 km from Hinjawadi to Civil Court featuring 23 elevated stations.

For Keolis, this collaboration represents a strategic opportunity to expand its international footprint in India’s rapidly growing transport sector while providing expertise tailored to local needs.

Keolis has been present in India since 2012 and currently operates the L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad, a subsidiary of Larsen and Toubro. With the addition of Pune Metro Line-3, the company further strengthens its position in the Indian mobility market.

The Line 3 of Pune Metro is being developed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. In August 2025, After two successful trial runs, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) unveiled the first look of the Pune Metro Line-3 trainset. 

The first trial run took place in early July between Hinjawadi and Shivajinagar, followed by a second trial run at the end of July on the 4 km stretch between Maan Depot and Station PMR04.

CMRS to Conduct Final Safety Inspection on Mumbai Metro Line 2B

MUMBAI (Metro Rail News): Mumbai Metro Rail Project will achieve a milestone as the final safety inspection of Mumbai Metro Line 2B (Yellow Line) is going to be conducted very soon by the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS). The Line 2B of Mumbai Metro spans 23.643 km from  D N Nagar to Mandale through 20 stations. 

The trials will be conducted on the Phase 1 of Mumbai Metro Line 2B. The Phase 1 of Mumbai Metro Line 2B is a 5.3 km stretch which connects Mandale and Diamond Garden through 5 stations. 

Stations: Diamond Garden, Shivaji Chowk, BSNL, Mankhurd, Mandale

In April 2025, Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) initiated the trial runs on the Phase 1 of Mumbai Metro Line 2B. 

Metro Line 2B, Phase 1 is scheduled to open to the public by December this year, while the full line is expected to become operational by 2027. To fast-track services, the project has been divided into phases, with the Mandale to Diamond Garden section set to be commissioned first.

PM Modi to Inaugurate the 27km Stretch of Delhi-Meerut RRTS Corridor Soon

India’s first RRTS Corridor is going to advance soon as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s will likely inaugurate the remaining 27 km stretch of Delhi-Meerut RRTS Corridor on 17 September. The  Delhi-Meerut RRTS Corridor is a 82 km semi-high speed rail corridor which connects Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut. 

Currently the 55 km stretch of Delhi-Meerut RRTS Corridor from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South featuring 11 stations is operational. In June 2025, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) successfully conducted the timetabled trial run of the Namo Bharat train across the entire Delhi-Meerut RRTS Corridor. 

Recently, NCRTC also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Uber to facilitate last-mile connectivity services along the Delhi- Meerut Namo Bharat corridor. To know more about this news: Click Here.

Alongside, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also inaugurate the Delhi Metro Pink Line Extension from Majlis Park to Majpur which features 8 stations. The extension of the Pink Line is part of Delhi Metro’s Phase 4. 

Currently, the Pink Line of Delhi Metro spans 59.24 km from Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar and is the longest line in the Delhi Metro network. Once the extension of Pink Line becomes operational the line will form a complete ring.

MRVC Floats Rolling Stock Tender Worth Rs. 21,000 Cr for Mumbai Suburban Rail Project

MUMBAI (Metro Rail News): The Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Ltd (MRVC) has floated an e-tender worth ₹21,000 crore for the procurement and maintenance of 2,856 air-conditioned Vande Metro broad-gauge coaches in 12, 15, and 18-car configurations, under the rolling stock contract of the Mumbai Suburban Rail Project

The bid submission process will begin on December 8, and the bids will be opened on December 22. The first prototype rake is expected to arrive in Mumbai approximately two years after the contract is awarded.

The contract includes the procurement and 35-year maintenance of 2,856 fully air-conditioned Vande Metro suburban coaches for Mumbai Suburban Rail Project. 

Brief Scope of Work: Procurement cum Maintenance of 2856 Cars in configuration of 12/15/18-Car Air-Conditioned Vande Metro (Suburban) Broad Gauge Rakes with comprehensive maintenance for 35 years including setting up of two New Maintenance Depots under MUTP-III and MUTP-3A.” 

As per the officials,”These rakes will be in 12-, 15-, and 18-car formations as per requirements and feasibility of operation, significantly enhancing passenger capacity, comfort, and safety across the city’s lifeline,”. 

A MRVC Official also mentioned “The tender will also follow the Make in India policy, ensuring significant domestic manufacturing and technology integration,” as reported by Times of India.

Trial Run Conducted On Line 2 of Patna Metro

PATNA (Metro Rail News): The Patna Metro Rail Project achieved a major milestone as the first fitness trials runs were successfully conducted on the Line 2 of Patna Metro on 7 September 2025. The Line 2 of Patna Metro spans 14.05 km between Patna Junction Railway Station and New ISBT featuring 12 stations.

The trial runs were conducted between the  Patna Depot and Bhoothnath Metro Station of Line 2. During the trials,  several critical systems were thoroughly tested to ensure safe and efficient metro operations.

Mumbai - Ahmedabad Bullet Train project: 9th Steel Bridge Completed in Gujarat

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project advanced with the successful launch of the second 100-metre span of a 2 X 100 m long steel bridge over NH-48, which connects Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai, near Nadiad, Gujarat, for the Bullet Train project.

The initial 100-metre span for this bridge was completed in April 2025, marking it as the ninth of the planned 17 steel bridges in Gujarat. This particular bridge, consisting of two spans of 100 metres each, weighs approximately 2,884 metric tonnes and stands 14.6 metres tall and 14.3 metres wide. 

This 200-metre steel bridge incorporates around 114,172 Tor-Shear Type High Strength (TTHS) bolts, a C5 system painting, and elastomeric bearings. It was assembled on temporary trestles at a height of 14.9 metres and was moved into position using an automatic system with two semi-automatic jacks, each capable of lifting 250 tonnes, along with mac-alloy bars.

In total, there are 28 steel bridges planned for the entire Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train corridor, with 11 located in Maharashtra and 17 in Gujarat.
