Bangalore Metro’s Yellow Line to Minimise Headways with Arrival of New Train Sets

Bangalore Metro’s Reach 5, also known as the Yellow Line, became operational in August 2025. The 19.15 km corridor connects RV Road to Bommasandra.

At present, commuters on the Yellow Line are experiencing headways of around 9 minutes due to the limited availability of rolling stock. This is expected to improve in the coming months, with two additional trainsets likely to be inducted into the fleet by May.

With this addition, the total number of trains on the corridor will increase to 10, bringing down headways to approximately 4 minutes and improving service frequency.

Meanwhile, work on Phase 2A, also known as the Blue Line, is progressing at pace. The 19.75 km corridor will connect Central Silk Board to KR Puram along the Outer Ring Road and is expected to play a key role in easing traffic congestion on one of the city’s busiest stretches.
