Bangalore (Metro Rail News): Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) has advanced the 44.56 km Bangalore Metro Phase 3 project by awarding four geotechnical soil investigation contracts on July 23.

The contract involves geotechnical investigation for the construction of viaducts and stations in the Bangalore Metro Phase 3 project, distributed across four contract packages.
Firms that received contracts
SECON was awarded two contracts, while Manglam Consultancy Services – Hyderabad and Myrtle Project and Consultancy each received one contract.
The deadline for each contract is 5 months.
Package 1
- Awarded To: Manglam Consultancy Services – Hyderabad
- Scope: Geotechnical investigation from JP Nagar 4th Phase to Mysore Road Station (Chainage: 0.330 km to 10.550 km)
- Contract Value: ₹1.32 crore
Package 2
- Awarded To: SECON Pvt. Ltd.
- Scope: Geotechnical investigation from Mysore Road Station to Kanteerava Studio Station (Chainage: 10.550 km to 21.153 km)
- Contract Value: ₹1.31 crore
Package 3
- Awarded To: Myrtle Project and Consultancy Pvt. Ltd.
- Scope: Geotechnical investigation from Kanteerava Studio Station to Kempapura Station (Chainage: 21.153 km to 31.172 km)
- Contract Value: ₹1.32 crore
Package 4
- Awarded To: SECON Pvt. Ltd.
- Scope: Geotechnical investigation from Hosahalli Station to Kadabagere Station (Chainage: 0.450 km to 12.050 km) and at Sunkadakatte Depot
- Contract Value: ₹1.54 crore
Objective of the Geotechnical Investigation
Conducting thorough investigations through these four sub-soil investigation contracts will facilitate the precise design of the line structures. Infrastructure companies will benefit from detailed investigation reports to prepare more accurate financial bids and select suitable technologies and methods for construction.
Bangalore Metro Phase 3
Initially, Bangalore Metro’s Phase 3 project was planned to cover 105.55 km. However, BMRCL later scaled it down to just two lines.
The first line, known as the Orange Line, will extend from Kempapura to JP Nagar 4th Phase, featuring 22 stations along the Outer Ring Road.
The second line will extend 12.5 km from Kadabagere to Hosahalli, with 9 stations. Both lines will be fully elevated and will serve the western side of Bengaluru city.
