On May 11, 1964, Hindustan Aircraft Limited (now M/s. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited) handed over administrative control of the factory to BEML Limited (formerly known as Bharat Earth Movers Limited).
BEML has delivered over 1,100 metro cars to different projects in India to date. Customers have praised BEML’s achievements in successfully completing the indigenization of rolling stock and expanding its manufacturing facilities.
BEML extended its position in the Metro Sector, commanding a strong market share in India, thanks to its expertise in the manufacture, integration, and testing of Metro Cars. This Rail Coach Factory has produced and supplied over 17,000 mainline passenger coaches of different types for Indian Railways’ long-distance mainline routes since its inception.
