BANGALORE (Metro Rail News): The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) sent a second train with six cars from Baiyappanahalli on 13th January. Subsequently, the coaches were sequentially loaded onto transporters and shipped to the Whitefield depot for further testing before inaugurating the Baiyapanahalli-Whitefield line.
Seven newly-created trains will be operating on Reach-1 expansion. The first train is already undergoing trial runs to inaugurate the 13-kilometre stretch between KR Puram and Whitefield by mid-March.
A Metro executive declared that the transportation of the train to the depot is a complicated process, for it requires the coaches to be loaded onto the trailer, unloaded at the destination, and then fit and coupled together to form the train.
He further stated that the tests and commissioning for the previously constructed six-car train are still in progress. The upcoming seven trains will also partake in the multiple train trials. He concluded by mentioning that the 2.5-km stretch between KR Puram and Baiyappanahalli will take a few months due to the portion being constructed above the railway tracks near Benigenahalli.
