KERALA (Metro Rail News): Kerala is all set to get Vande Bharat Express that will serve from Thiruvananthapuram division. The state will receive two rakes, one unit comprising 16 passenger cars with a seating capacity of 1,128.
The Railway Board has directed authorities to start preparations for the service in Thiruvananthapuram. A facility will be constructed in the division for managing and repairing the two rakes.
Due to existing railway track conditions in Kerala, Vande Bharat Express trains will not be able to run at the anticipated speed, therefore the Ministry of Railways has decided to run trains through Kerala even if the speed is reduced a little.
Construction of specially designed Vande Bharat trains is undergoing at the Chennai Integral Coach Factory. The construction of the first train will be completed by August. The railway is planning to provide 75 trains to various railway zones before August 2023.
