BANGALORE (Metro Rail News): An optimistic news is there for Bengaluru people who use to travel through the Tin Factory Junction as road-widening works are being taken up in the area by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) according to the sources familiar with the recent developments.

The road along the upcoming Jyotipura and KR Puram Metro stations of the Baiyappanahalli-Whitefield Line is being widened. Two upcoming Metro lines will crisscross at the nearby KR Puram junction.  The work is underway with acquisition of 74 properties, including two temples.

The two prominent local temples along with 24 other properties have been acquired and handed over to the engineering cell while 50 such properties are under legal dispute.

A compensation of Rs 9 crore has been paid to the temple authorities as per media reports. The roads alongside these places are also being widened keeping in view the problems of traffic jams. Acquiring the temple lands was crucial due to religious sentiments and attachment of the people to them, said one official.
