GREATER NOIDA, (Metro Rail News): The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is exploring different unconventional metro modes to provide faster and smooth connectivity for Noida International Airport with Delhi-NCR.

As a result, YEIDA has entrusted the task of preparing Detailed Project Report (DPR) for three different unconventional metro modes to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). These three modes are Metro Lite, Metro Neo and Express Line. All three are different from each other in terms speed, cost, construction methodology etc.

According to Arun Vir Singh, CEO of YEIDA, “We got the DMRC to prepare a DPR of a metro line connecting Noida airport to Greater Noida’s Knowledge Park-II, which is a distance of approximately 35.6 km. We forwarded the DPR to the state government for necessary assessment and approval. The state government gave its observation and asked us to prepare a DPR of the three modes of connectivity. The DMRC will soon start preparing the DPR of the three models”.

DMRC proposed DPR consists of 25 stations on a stretch of 35.4 Km from Knowledge Park-2 in Greater Noida to Noida International Airport. But the State Government observed that the travel time to cover the distance was high considering the average speed of 30-35 km per hour for normal metro and also wants to reduce the number of stations to save travel time.

According to Arun Vir Singh,” The state government wants to explore the fastest mode of conveyance from Greater Noida to Noida airport. We have not fixed a deadline to ready the DPR of the three modes. The DMRC will be asked to finish and submit the report at the earliest so that we can finalise on the fastest mode of conveyance and start work without delay. We need to develop the connectivity before the airport becomes functional.”.

Arun Vir Singh further said,” The state government wants a dedicated Airport Express Line or something that will run at a speed of 90 to 110 kmph”.

YEIDA is keen to provide faster connectivity to Noida International Airport before 2024, when the airport is expected to become operational.

Eaton introduces internationally-acclaimed EnergyAware UPS in India

0
Eaton EnergyAware Solution
Photo Copyrighted: Eaton

New Delhi: Eaton, a global power management company, launched an industry-first data centre solution – EnergyAware UPS using UPS-as-a-reserve (UPSaaR) in India. The solution will enable data centres to contribute to renewable energy and also earn from their UPS investments. As per the estimates, a data centre could receive approximately $60,000 per MW / per year for its non-used capacity.

In India, the colocation/third-party data centre market is growing at a CAGR between 7 per cent and 8 per cent, raising the utilization levels of servers and increasing power requirements. EnergyAware is designed for data centre applications and can be used in any high-capacity IT load, industrial or manufacturing.

With its outstanding commitment to innovation, high-value solutions, and thought leadership, Eaton’s EnergyAware Solution has been recognized by Frost & Sullivan in the Indian UPS industry as a reserve system for data centres.

While addressing Eaton Managing Director-India, Electrical Sector Mr. Syed Sajjadh Ali commented, “As individuals and as an industry, we are all aware of our obligation to rethink our role as power consumers. The Data Centre industry continues to face challenges in reducing its carbon emissions and optimizing energy efficiency. Eaton’s EnergyAware technology allows large Data Centre operators to give back energy to the grid. The primary role of the UPS doesn’t change, but by creating UPS as a Reserve (UPSaaR) through EnergyAware, organizations can enable Energy Transition. With UPSaaR, organizations can offset both their Capex cost while contributing towards reducing the carbon footprint and enabling renewable energy.”

“We are delighted that the EnergyAware Solution has been recognized by Frost & Sullivan for its contribution to powering Data Centres of the future. We have created these innovative energy storage technologies for cities that can increase the number of renewables on the grid through providing much-needed stability, whilst still providing a commercial benefit.” Mr. Sajjadh Ali had commented.

About Eaton

Eaton’s mission is to improve the quality of life and the environment through the use of power management technologies and services. We provide sustainable solutions that help our customers effectively manage electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical power – more safely, more efficiently, and more reliably.
