MUMBAI (Metro Rail News): The General Consultant (GC) contract for Mumbai Metro’s 9.20 km Line-10 (Gaimukh – Shivaji Chowk) and 20.7 km Line-12 (Kalyan – Taloja) was given to SYSTRA MVA Consulting – DB Engineering & Consulting JV.
The consortium was the preferred bidder for the contract in July 2022 through the Quality and Cost-Based Selection (QCBS) approach. Their bid of Rs. 265.10 crore and an overall score of 91.06 beat other contenders, AECOM-HILL JV and AYESA-KNR JV.
The appointment of SYSTRA-DB JV to support the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is anticipated to pave the path for both lines’ swift implementation through help in design, supervision, safety, quality control, and contract management for civil and systems work.

Brief Scope of the project includes GC-07A Appointment of a General Consultant for Civil and System works of Mumbai Metro Line 10 (Gaimukh – Shivaji Chowk (Mira Road) and Mumbai Metro Line 12 (Kalyan- Taloja) of Mumbai Metro Rail Project of MMRDA, Mumbai.
MMRDA anticipates SYSTRA-DB that the estimated period of both projects is 54 months.
The 35.2 km Line-4/4A (Green Line) will be extended west to become Mumbai Metro’s Line-10 (Gaimukh to Shivaji Chowk), which would have four stops at Gaimukh Reti Bundar, Varsova Char Phata, Kashimira, and Shivaji Chowk.
A 20.75 km southern extension of the 24.95 km Line-5 (Orange Line) would be built as Line-12 (Kalyan to Taloja), with 17 stops at Ganesh Nagar, Pisvali Gaon, Golavali, Dombivli MIDC, Sagaon, Sonarpada, Manpada, Hedutane, Kolegaon, Nilaje Gaon, Vadavali, Bale, Waklan, Turbhe, Pisarve Depot, Pisarve, Taloja. The depot for the route is planned at Pisarve.
