Kochi: Kochi metro is the first metro in the country which connects roads, rails and waterway facilities and every Kochi metro station is designed on a specific theme Kerala culture, diversity and geography. It has elevated route spanning 25 km from Aluva to Petta 23 stations.
Kochi Metro Rail Ltd are still waiting for the complete forming of the walkway. The whole idea of making a walkway is to connect the two-metro station Ernakulam Boat Jetty and Maharaja college. The whole project is on the shoulder of the Metro Rail Authority. Due to incomplete construction people are facing lots of problem as there is no proper space for the pedestrian.
The main reason for the delay of the construction is the land as it is belonging to various government department. The project is said to done within the eight months but it is only 50% of the work has been done. The KMRL official stated that as soon they get the land they will get back to complete the whole construction work so that people would not face more trouble.

There should be proper spaces for parking vehicles as the improper manner of parking vehicles over the footpath led to problem of walking for the pedestrian. There should be proper checking of illegal parking of the vehicles over the roads and checked by the city police. This would minimize the problem of locals. The Metro agency will plan to design a walkway with a proper parking system and soon they start construction where the land is available. They have taken the matter of widening footpath and modern bus shelter along the stretch
Through this KMRL and CSML are promoting the non-motorized method of transportation “It will encourage people to walk from the Metro station to the boat jetty,” said the official.
The project when accomplished help the people and residents of hospital road area.
