Spanning 1.55 lakh square feet, the new manufacturing hub is strategically designed to scale sensor and board production while enhancing technological innovation and regional employment. The two-storey facility will house production on the ground floor, with the first floor dedicated to office space, the R&D hub and two specialised centres of excellence:

Frauscher Training Centre: A dedicated facility for external training programmes, enabling railway professionals, partners, and customers to gain hands-on experience with Frauscher solutions and collaborate on real-world operational challenges.

Frauscher Experience Centre: A premium space designed to demonstrate Frauscher’s cutting-edge solutions, expertise, and innovation, offering visitors a deep understanding of the technology and its real-world applications.

Delivering Trusted Solutions

The localised R&D hub will provide tailored product innovation for the Indian Railways and strengthen Frauscher’s ability to serve customer needs and deliver trusted, safe, and intelligent solutions. This development reinforces Frauscher’s position as a reliable partner in the railway industry, with capabilities to serve Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and emerging global markets from India.

“This new facility marks a significant step in our long-term strategy to support India’s evolving rail ecosystem as well as markets beyond. It strengthens our ability to deliver at scale, drive local innovation, and respond faster to market needs. Our mission is clear: put operators in control, enhance network safety and efficiency, and build systems that are ready for the future of the Indian railway network.” – Akhilesh Yadav, Managing Director, Frauscher Sensor Technology India

Built for a Sustainable and Innovative Future

The upcoming Mysore facility is designed with sustainability at its core, featuring 100% wastewater recycling, rainwater harvesting, and groundwater recharge through percolation pits. Rooftop solar panels will generate clean energy for the facility – making the plant environmentally responsible as well as technologically advanced.

In total, the expansion reinforces Frauscher’s commitment to the ‘Make in India’ Initiative, emphasising on supply chain agility, local employment generation, and improved responsiveness to market demands. Complementing the existing manufacturing site in Austria, this new facility will further strengthen the Company’s capacity to meet the increasing demand across India and key international markets

Joining Forces: Official Groundbreaking Ceremony

To mark this milestone, Frauscher held a traditional inauguration ceremony, beginning with a blessing, a symbolic shovel ceremony, and a tree-planting event, highlighting its commitment to sustainable growth, local culture, and long-standing partnerships. The event was attended by representatives from Indian Railways, key industry partners, and regional authorities, reinforcing a shared vision for a future-ready, technology-driven rail ecosystem in India.
