Bengaluru (Metro Rail News): Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP) progressed as Karnataka’s Rail Infrastructure Development Company (K-RIDE) announced KPC Project Ltd. as the lowest bidder for the construction contract of Soladevanahalli Depot.

In September 2024, K-Ride floated a tender for the Soladevanahalli Depot construction contract at Rs. 170.93 crore estimate and a 2-year (24-month) deadline. Furthermore, In December 2024, technical bids were opened to reveal the 2 bidders.

Scope Of Work
The scope of work under this contract includes the construction of Soladevanahalli Depot of
Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP). Additionally, the contract also includes the construction of an at-grade section spanning 1 km from Chikkabanavara Station to Soladevanahalli Depot.

About Soladevanahalli Depot
The Soladevanahalli Depot will be utilised for the maintenance of trains which operate on Corridor 2 (Mallige Line) of the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project. This line spans 24.866 km between Baiyyappanahalli Terminal and Chikkabanavara through 14 stations.
All the 51 trains (306 coaches) of the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project will be stabled and maintained at the Soladevanahalli Depot along with another depot located at Akkupet (Devanahalli).
