4 Firms Bid For Electrification DDC Contract of Bangalore Metro Phase 3

Bangalore (Metro Rail News): Bangalore Metro advanced as four firms submitted bids for the Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) covering traction and power supply works for the 44.65 km Bangalore Metro Phase 3 project.

In October 2024, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) floated a tender for this consultancy contract with a 2-year (730 Days) deadline. On 16 January 2025, Technical bids were opened to reveal the 4 bidders.

  • DB Engineering and Consulting GmbH
  • Leap Infraasys Pvt. Ltd.
  • SYSTRA MVA Consulting (India) Pvt. Ltd.

Note: These are lead bidders only. Some might have bid in a JV with other firms.

Scope of Work 

The scope of work under this package includes the designing of all traction substations, auxiliary substations (along with power cables), 750V DC third rail system and SCADA system for the Bangalore Metro Phase 3.

Bangalore Metro Phase 3 

Bangalore Metro Phase 3 comprises the construction of 2 new corridors along the Outer Ring Road (ORR). The new lines of Phase 3 will also be powered by a 750V DC Third Rail system.

Orange Line Kempapura – JP Nagar 4th Phase32.15 km22 stations 
New Line Kadabagare – Hosahalli 12.5 km 9 stations

Further Information

The bids submitted by four firms have now been sent for technical evaluation. After the completion, the financial bids of the qualified bidders will be opened to reveal the lowest bidder of the contract.
