DB RRTS Operations India Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn International Operations (DB IO), introduced an important development aimed at improving the efficiency and sustainability of maintenance operations for India’s first semi-high-speed regional rapid transit system—the Namo Bharat corridor implemented by National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC).

As the operator and maintainer for the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC)-led Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor, DB RRTS has partnered with Würth Industrial Services India to support smarter, safer, and more sustainable rail operations. NCRTC always encourages the development and adoption of new-age technological solutions for enhancing efficiency and commuter-centricity of the system

Sustainable Maintenance with Würth
This Indo-German collaboration marks the beginning of a long-term effort to enhance depot-level maintenance using environmentally friendly practices. DB RRTS has adopted Würth’s REFILLO®mat aerosol refill system at the Duhai depot, becoming the first rail operator in India to use this technology. The system helps reduce hazardous waste and packaging while improving workplace safety.
In addition to the REFILLO®mat system, Würth will support DB RRTS through automated inventory management, modular storage solutions (ORSY®mat), and improved supply chain coordination. The Würth “System Bus”—a mobile showroom for on-site product demonstrations—was also displayed as part of the launch.
“This collaboration with Würth is not just about tools—it’s about building smarter, sustainable systems for future-ready railways,” said Mr. Niko Warbanoff, CEO, DB E.C.O. Group & DB International Operations. “It reflects our shared German legacy of engineering excellence and commitment to India’s Make-in-India and sustainability goals. Therefore, I am very happy and proud about the partnership with Würth.”
The event, held in the presence of media, was attended by Mr. Niko Warbanoff, CEO, DB E.C.O. Group & DB International Operations; Mr. Rahul Gupta, MD, Würth Industrial Services India; Mr. Praveen Goyal, CEO, DB RRTS; Mr. Michael Kortüm, COO, DB RRTS; and Mr. Anil Kumar Agarwal, CMO, DB RRTS, along with other top officials from DB RRTS and Würth.
