Jaipur (Metro Rail News): In November, RITES Ltd. secured a Rs.4.69 crore contract from Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) to undertake a comprehensive review of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of Phase 2. The scope of work also includes conducting traffic and transport studies for proposed metro corridors and preparing a DPR for viable routes identified through studies.
The Jaipur Metro Rail Cooperation (JMRC) decided to review the entire Phase 2 DPR after the announcement of the extension of the line from Ambabari northwards towards Vidhyadhar Nagar spanning 7 km by the Rajasthan Government. The Ambabari – Sitapura section is named Phase 2A while the Ambabari – Vidhyadhar Nagar is designated as Phase 2B.
Bidding Process
Jaipur Metro Rail Cooperation (JMRC) floated a tender for this consultancy contract in July 2024 with an approximate 4-month (120-day) deadline.
On 5 August 2024, technical bids were opened to reveal the 2 bidders for the contract: RITES and SYSTRA MVA Consulting (India).
On 23 August 2024, financial bids were opened to reveal RITES as the lowest bidder.
Contract Details
As per the contract, RITES has to prepare a
- Deliverable 1: Preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Phase 2 & its extension on the basis of Detailed Traffic & Transport Study and related assessment along operational phases i.e. Phase 1 – Mansarovar to Badi Chaupar, under implementation phases i.e. Phase 1C – Badi Chaupar to Transport Nagar & Phase 1D – Mansarovar to Ajmer Road Chauraha and proposed Phase 2 (Phase 2A + 2B) to identify most viable Phase 2 metro corridor along with other future metro extensions
- Deliverable 2: Preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) for most viable and effective metro corridors/extensions etc. identified on the basis of study and approved by the Competent Authority
- Deliverable 3: Preparation of Detailed Proposal for First and Last-mile connectivity for all operational and proposed metro stations along with provision of parking in all important metro stations
- Deliverable 4: Prepare a detailed Proposal plan for Value Capture Financing (VCF) by acquiring land parcels of JDA along the metro corridors.
