7 Companies in race to construct Delhi Metro Silver Line’s twin tunnel and four underground stations

NEW DELHI (Metro Rail News): Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Tuesday opened technical bids for the work related for the construction of twin tunnel and four underground stations of Aerocity-Tughlakabad Corridor for Phase-IV of Delhi Metro.

A total of seven firms submitted bids for the given contract which has an approximate length of 6.1 km and four Underground Stations at Aerocity, Mahipalpur, Vasant Kunj and Kishangarh. The names of the firms are given below –

  • Afcons Infrastructure Limited
  • Gulermak Agir Sanayi Insaat ve Taahhut A.S.
  • ITD Cementation India Limited
  • Larsen & Toubro (L&T)
  • J Kumar Infraprojects Ltd.
  • Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co. Ltd.
  • Tata Projects Ltd.

Name of Work – Design and Construction of Twin Tunnel (Up & Down Line) by Shield TBM, Cut and Cover Tunnel box and four Underground stations namely Aerocity, Mahipalpur, Vasant Kunj and Kishangarh with Entry/Exits & Connecting subways from chainage (-) 760 mt. to 5356.285 mt. of Aerocity to Tughlakabad Corridor of Phase-IV of Delhi MRTS.

DMRC invited bids for this contract in April this year with an unknown estimated cost and completion period of 42 months.

This contract will also be funded by the JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) as a part of loan sanctioned for Phase-4 of Delhi Metro of amount INR 8,390 Crores.

Now bids for this civil contract will be sent for technical evaluation which will take a couple of months. After that, financial bids of the technically qualified bidders will be opened which will reveal the name of the lowest bidder and the most likely winner of this contract.
