Mumbai (Metro Rail News): Mumbai Metro is going to witness a development as the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has been planning to conduct the trial runs of Line 2B ( Yellow Line), which spans 23.643 km from D N Nagar to Mandale through 20 stations.
An MMRDA Official mentioned, “Last week, we successfully electrified the overhead equipment. As a step towards making the metro corridor open for the public, trial runs would commence from Wednesday,”
About Trial Run
MMRDA has been planning to conduct the trials on the 5.3 km stretch of Line 2B. The trials are expected to be undertaken between Mandale and Diamond Garden, featuring 5 stations.

Future Projection
After successful preliminary test runs, the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) of the Indian Railways will be invited to certify the system for the subsequent phase, which involves engaging an Independent Safety Assessor.
Subsequently, the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS)will evaluate the system and, upon satisfactory assessment, will certify it as suitable for public operations.
