NEW DELHI (Metro Rail News): Sanjay Kumar Jain, an Indian Railway Traffic Services (IRTS) Officer from the 1990 batch, assumed the role of chairman and managing director of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) with immediate effect.
The Appointment
The Ministry of Railways approved his appointment on February 8, as confirmed by IRCTC to the exchanges. The appointment has been granted on an “immediate absorption basis,” with a salary scale ranging from Rs. 1,80,000 to Rs. 3,20,000.
Prior Experience
Before taking on the role of Chairman and Managing Director of IRCTC, Jain held the position of Principal Chief Commercial Manager at Northern Railway. It’s worth noting that the IRCTC Chairman and MD post had been vacant since January 2021 after Mahendra Pratap Maal retired.
Duration
Jain will retain the position until either his superannuation on December 31, 2026 or until further directives are issued, whichever comes first.
