KOLKATA ( Metro Rail News): RVNL (Rail Vikas Nigam Limited) has issued a tender worth Rs. 900.75 Cr to carry out critical works for the Joka Esplanade and Kavi Subhash-Biman Bandar corridor of Kolkata Metro. The works are related to traction, rolling stock and signalling.

Contract Duration: 30 Months
Contract Scope of Work: Design, manufacture, supply, testing and commissioning of 750V DC Traction, broad gauge 8 Car rakes (80 coaches), including integration with CBTC for Joka Esplanade and Kavi Subhash-Biman Bandar corridor of Kolkata Metro.
Furthermore, on 22 August 2025, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi also inaugurated three important stretches of Kolkata Metro, which span across the Yellow Line, Green Line, and Orange Line.
