BIHAR (Metro Rail News): To increase connectivity in Bihar, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has flagged off two new train services from Bihar. PM Modi flagged off the trains at his rally in Gaya through a video conferencing on 22 August 2025.
- Gaya–Delhi Amrit Bharat Express
- Vaishali–Gaya–Koderma Buddhist Circuit Train

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the Amrit Bharat Express, which will operate between Gaya and Delhi, providing modern amenities, enhanced comfort, and safety for passengers. Additionally, the Buddhist Circuit Train is set to connect Vaishali with Koderma, with a focus on promoting tourism and facilitating religious travel to significant Buddhist pilgrimage sites within the region.
The Amrit Bharat Express is designed as a fast-service passenger train and will commence operations on August 28. This route encompasses key destinations including Anugrah, Dehri, Sasaram, Bhabhua Road, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Tundla, and Ghaziabad.
The train features 22 coaches, comprising eight sleeper class and eleven general class coaches, thereby accommodating thousands of passengers from the Magadha region and Gaya. This initiative marks the introduction of the seventh Amrit Bharat train in advance of the forthcoming Bihar elections. These affordable trains are designed for passenger comfort while delivering high-quality service, following the establishment of six other routes from Bihar to Delhi.
The Buddhist Circuit Train, managed by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), additionally offers travel routes from India to Nepal to enhance spiritual tourism. Travellers can conveniently reserve seats via the website irctcbuddhisttrain.com, with ticket prices ranging from Rs 14,375 to Rs 11,875. These trains are equipped with deluxe accommodation coaches.
This development came after the Indian Railways’ announcement of 12,000 special routes that will be operational during the Diwali festival. This initiative is designed as a flagship strategy to manage the increased travel demand during the festive season, promote passenger convenience, and enhance tourism opportunities.
