In a move to streamline the frequency of rail services, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated three new Vande Bharat Express trains at the KSR Bengaluru railway station.
The three new services include:
- Ajni (Nagpur) – Pune
- KSR Bengaluru – Belagavi
- Shree Mata Vaishnodevi Katra – Amritsar

With these additions, the total number of Vande Bharat trains operating across India has reached 150, as reported by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
The Bengaluru to Belagavi Vande Bharat Express represents the 11th such service within Karnataka. Designated as 26751/26752, this train will complete the 611 km journey in 8 hours and 20 minutes, establishing itself as the fastest train between the two cities. Railway officials indicated that this service will reduce travel time by approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes from KSR Bengaluru to Belagavi, as well as by 1 hour and 40 minutes on the return journey compared to existing transport options.

The introduction of the Ajni (Nagpur) to Pune service also marks the addition of the 12th Vande Bharat train in Maharashtra. The Ajni-Pune Vande Bharat Express will become the longest-running service in the country, covering a distance of 881 km. It is expected to operate at an average speed of 73 km/h, including 10 intermediate stops, making it the fastest train along the Nagpur-Pune route.
The Shree Mata Vaishnodevi Katra to Amritsar Vande Bharat Express is designed to connect the Shrin to Amritsar with a runtime of 5 hours and 40 minutes. The train will depart from Shree Mata Vaishnodevi Katra (SVDK) at 6:40 AM, arriving in Amritsar at 12:20 PM.
