PUNE (Metro Rail News): PINI India Pvt. Ltd. (PIPL) has recently secured a contract valued at Rs. 6.84 crore to deliver Detailed Design Consultancy (DDC) services for the extension of Pune Metro Purple Line from Swargate to Katraj.

Under Package DDC-02R, PINI will undertake a comprehensive range of tasks, including architectural design, tunnel ventilation, environmental simulation, building management, and electrical and mechanical services, for the 5.46 km extension of Line-1.

This underground extension, part of the Pune Metro Phase 1 Extension or Phase 1A project, encompasses three stations at Market Yard (Gultekdi), Saibaba Nagar, and Katraj. The contract, awarded by MahaMetro, is pending approval from the Central Government’s Public Investment Board (PIB).

The bidding process for the DDC service initially commenced with Package DDC-02 in November 2023. However, it was subsequently cancelled and reinvited as DDC-02R in December 2023, with a contract period of 60 months. Following the opening of technical bids in January, five firms, including PINI India Pvt. Ltd., qualified for the financial round.

The final contract value stands at Rs. 6,84,70,000.00.

MahaMetro has outlined a detailed scope for the appointed Detail Design Consultant, covering various aspects such as architectural and tunnel ventilation system design, environmental control system, building management system, and electrical and mechanical services for the Swargate to Katraj Corridor of the Pune Metro Rail Project.

This development signifies a significant step forward in Pune’s metro expansion, paving the way for enhanced connectivity and modern infrastructure for the city.
