Noida ( Metro Rail News): After reaching a remarkable milestone last month, Noida Metro’s ridership trend is still rising. In September 2024, Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) reported that the average daily traffic increased to 64,068 people, a notable rise from prior months, which was 55,777 in August 2024.

INCREMENT IN RIDERSHIP
Throughout the previous year, the NMRC has seen a consistent rise in ridership; the current daily ridership has increased by 13% over the same period last year. In comparison, the average daily ridership for 2023–2024 was 47,427 and 2024-2025 ridership went up to 53,600 in September 2024.

NMRC AWARDED WITH SEVERAL PROJECTS
Dr. Lokesh M., MD/NMRC, had a meeting to review the progress accomplished. During the meeting, it was mentioned to increase revenue generation and property development, NMRC has given 11 new contracts in the last year, bringing in a total of ₹6.05 crore in revenue each year.
Along with the contracts that have been awarded, NMRC has also announced several upcoming tenders that should bring in ₹5.15 crore a year.
NMRC is aiming to increase its commercial footprint through these tenders, includes:
- Licensing of Inside Station Advertising Rights in NMRC Network at 06 Metro Stations.
- Sec-51
- Sec-50
- Sec-76
- Alpha-1
- Delta-1
- GNIDA Office
- An invitation to tender for the licensing of commercial spaces at Sec. 83 Metro Station for co-working and office space.
- Establishing, running, and managing KIOSKS, a type of multipurpose convenience store via the licensing of ground floor commercial empty spaces at ALPHA – I Metro locations.
- Establishing, running, and maintaining mixed convenience stores in the form of kiosks at six metro stations in the NMRC network by licensing commercial bare space that is accessible beneath the stairway structure
- The ground-floor commercial area at Pari Chowk Metro Station is licensed for use.
- The licensing of commercial areas at Depot Metro Station and Secs. 101, 81, and 83.
- The Noida region’s Metro Piers are available for the license of advertisement rights.
- Parking will be available at 15 metro stations.
In addition to the above-mentioned, Non-Fare-Box revenue generating is planned through Property Development at a large land piece in Sector-94. Inquiry number development for parking/advertisement rights and other property-related questions was also mandated by the MD.
As per the NMRC’s press release, “These property development initiatives are key to enhancing the financial sustainability of NMRC. By maximising the commercial potential of metro stations and associated infrastructure, we are creating a solid foundation for future growth while providing additional amenities to the public”.
