THIRUVANANTHAPURAM (Metro Rail News): The government-appointed Alkesh Kumar Sharma, a 1990-batch IAS officer, as the new managing director of Kochi Metro Rail Limited. Incumbent managing director APM Muhammed Hanish has been appointed as secretary (labor and skills) and taxes (excise) departments. He will also hold the charge of managing director of Cheraman Financial Services Limited.
Sharma will also hold the charge of chief executive officer of Smart City, Kochi and that of principal secretary (Kochi-Bengaluru industrial corridor).
Sharma, while on deputation, had held the charge of chief executive officer of Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor project under the ministry of commerce and industry. ADGP Tomin Thachankary, who is currently the head of armed police battalion, has been made ADGP (Crimes).
He will also hold the additional charge of battalion ADGP. Chaitra Theresa John, who is currently SP Operations (antinaxal terror squad) has been given the additional charge of the commandant of India Reserve Battalion. Divya V Gopinath, who is the SP (information communication technology), will hold the additional charge of the commandant of women battalion.
P Suresh Babu, who is currently holding the charge of the controller of legal metrology, has been appointed as joint secretary of official languages department, while KT Varghese Panikkar will be the new controller of legal metrology.
The government also appointed Navjot Khosa and Joshi Mrinmayi Shashank as managing director of Kerala Medical Services Corporation and executive director of Jalanidhi project, respectively.
Shashank will also hold the additional charge of national hydrology project and projects underwater resources department relating to Rebuild Kerala initiative.
Incumbent sub-collector of Thiruvananthapuram K Imbasekhar has been appointed as joint commissioner of Kerala goods and services tax, while Devikulam sub-collector Renu Raj and Ottappalam sub-collector Geromic George have been appointed as deputy secretaries in general administration department.
Alappuzha sub-collector VRK Theja Mylavarppu has been transferred as additional director of the tourism department, who would also hold the additional charge of KTDC managing director. Kozhikode sub-collector V Vighneshwari has been appointed as director of the collegiate education department.
