(MRVC) has disclosed the list of bidders that submitted proposals for undertaking the signalling works associated with the proposed 5th and 6th lines between Borivali (BVI) and Virar (VR) in the Mumbai Suburban network under the MUTP-IIIA project. The Borivali (BVI)-Virar (VR) 5th and 6th Line Project is an important expansion under the Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP)-IIIA. It involves adding 26 km of new railway lines on the Western Railway network to separate slow and fast suburban services. This project is expected to ease congestion on one of Mumbai’s busiest rail corridors. The project has an estimated cost of ₹2,184 crore and is scheduled for completion by March 2028.
