Pune (Metro Rail News): Another development has been waiting for Pune Residents as Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (MMRCL) floated tenders on 4 October for the appointment of General Consultant (GC) for Pune Metro Phase 2 Project. Maha-Metro posted a primary tender notice for Phase 2’s General Consultant contract on the same day.

Scope of work:
The General Consultant will be responsible for providing consultancy services in design, supervision, safety, quality control and contract management for the Pune Metro Phase 2 Project.
Pune Metro Phase 2 Routes
- The Pune Metro Phase 2 consists of Line 5 spanning 25.65 Km providing connectivity between Khadakwasla and Kharadi through 22 stations.
- Line 5 extension from SNDT to Manik Baug spanning 8 Km through 6 stations.
- HCMTR or Ring Line, a 36 km stretch from Ambedkar Chowk to Kirloskaar with 44 stations in total.
The Aqua Line’s extensions from Vanaz to Chandni Chowk and between Ramwadi and Wagholi spanning 1.12 km and 11.63 km will be executed under Pune Metro Phase 1 extension. Previously these extensions were part of Pune Metro Phase 2 project.
