Pune (Metro Rail News): The Maharahtra Metro Rail Corporation (MahaMetro) has joined hands with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for carrying out repairs of potholes and resurfacing of road stretches in the city where Metro work is underway.
Teams have been formed by the MahaMetro for every section. A joint inspection was carried out of one of the stretches on Karve Road where huge potholes have developed after the recent rains. Both the PMC and MahaMetro have decided to inspect the city roads for preparing a plan for repairs.
Local corporator Manjushree Khardekar, who initiated the joint visit on Karve Road, said that a stretch between Paud Phata and Khandujeebaa chowk is in bad shape, causing inconvenience to regular commuters. Both the PMC and MahaMetro have now given assurance to repair the stretch in the next 10 days.
“We are coordinating with the PMC for carrying out road repairs on all stretches. The contractors have been told to provide machinery and other assistance to the PMC teams. We will also ensure that rainwater accumulated on the road is cleared”, said an official.
