Pune (Metro Rail News): Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (Maha Metro) floated tenders on 4 October for the civil construction contract of Pune Metro’s Purple Line extension from Swargate to Katraj. Maha-Metro posted a basic tender notice for the contract on the same day.

Pune Metro Purple Line

Operational route: Currently, the Purple Line is operating between PCMC and Civil Court spanning 13.3 km through 11 stations.
- The Purple Line’s 3.3 km extension between Civil Court and Swargate recently became operational. This section features 3 stations.
- The extension from Swargate to Katraj is a 5.464 km stretch with 3 stations. The tenders have been floated for the same section.
- Purple Line’s northern extension from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to Nigdi (under construction) covers 4.519 km with 4 stations.
