                                    14METRO RAIL NEWS -AUGUST METRO RAIL NEWS -AUGUST 2025 www.metrorailnews.in NEWS HIGHLIGHTSBullet Train Project Advanced With Completion of River Bridge in Valsad District of GujaratNational High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has achieved another breakthrough in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Project by successfully completing the bridge over the Daman Ganga River in the Valsad district of Gujarat. This achievement marks the completion of the 16th river bridge for the project. Moreover, the completion of the Daman Ganga River bridge signifies the successful construction of all five bridges situated within the Valsad district. In total, the project encompasses the construction of 25 river bridges along the entire corridor.Delhi Meerut RRTS: Modipuram Depot Nearing CompletionConstruction activities for the second Namo Bharat depot are advancing swiftly in Modipuram, Meerut. This facility is being situated near the University of Agriculture and Technology campus to support operations along the entire Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor. Presently, Namo Bharat trains are being operated and maintained from an existing operational depot located in Duhai, Ghaziabad. The Modipuram depot will feature a train workshop dedicated to the maintenance of both Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro trains. In addition, a 1.2 km-long test track will be constructed on-site to enable comprehensive testing of the trains.E-Vehicle Charging Facility Installed at Guldhar and Duhai RRTS StationsIn a step forward towards promoting a sustainable and environmentally friendly transport system, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has successfully installed fast Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations at the Guldhar and Duhai Namo Bharat Stations. Each fast charging station is equipped with high-voltage charging units that possess a capacity of 50 kW, facilitating accelerated charging for electric vehicles. These charging units are capable of recharging four-wheelers to approximately 80% in a mere 30 minutes.Titagarh Rail Acquired 40-Acre Land to Accelerate Production of Rolling StockIn a strategic initiative to meet the growing demand for rolling stock within the rail transport sector, Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd formalised a long-term lease agreement with the Government of West Bengal on 12 July 2025. This agreement pertains to a 40-acre land parcel, with a total valuation of %u20b9126.63 crore, established under a 99-year lease arrangement. The newly acquired land will be utilised to augment manufacturing capacity, with a particular focus on the production of Vande Bharat trainsets and metro coaches.Skoda Group & Tata AutoComp to Manufacture Railway Components in IndiaOn 7 July, Tata AutoComp Systems and the Czech Republic-based Skoda Group formalised a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing the nation%u2019s railway manufacturing capabilities while addressing the increasing demand for advanced mobility solutions within the rail sector. This collaboration will leverage the unique expertise of both companies to produce essential railway components, including propulsion systems, converters, drives, and auxiliary converters.
