This line extends 3.17 km connecting Andheri to the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) Terminal, covering 2 stations. For its first and only Assignment, TBM Dhruv started its tunnelling drive from CSMIA%u2019s Terminal 2 Station%u2019s shaft and constructed a 1.65 km tunnel for the up-line towards Airport Colony Ramp in 19 months.DMRC & CMRL Ink Agreement for O&M work of 3 Corridors of Chennai MetroThe Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) have formalised an agreement for the operation and maintenance services for three corridors of Chennai Metro%u2019s Phase II, including the maintenance depots located at Madhavaram, Poonamallee, and Semmancheri. As per the agreement, DMRC will be responsible for providing operation and maintenance services for an estimated duration of 15 years. The contract was awarded through an international competitive bidding process on April 2, 2025, and encompasses approximately 118 km of track and 112 stations across Corridors 3, 4, and 5 of Chennai Metro Phase 2.Titagarh Rail to Supply 12 Trainsets for Pune Metro at %u20b9430.53 CrThe consortium of Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd & Titagarh Firema S.p.A. has secured a major rolling stock contract valued at %u20b9430.53 crore for the Pune Metro project. The contract entails the procurement of an additional 12 trainsets as an addendum under Clause A.6 of the original agreement (Contract No: P1/RS-01/2018). The provision allows for expansion beyond the initially agreed quantity to meet the increasing operational requirements of the metro system.Bhubaneswar Metro Project Stalled Amidst Viability Issue The Bhubaneswar Metro project has encountered a major setback as the state government has decided to scrap the tenders of Phase 1 due to viability concerns. Krushna Chandra Mohapatra, the Minister for Housing and Urban Development in Odisha, said that the decision to cancel the tender was taken due to delays in implementation and the intention to prevent cost escalations. Furthermore, Mohapatra indicated that the state government plans to engage in consultations with the central government regarding the project, in contrast to the previous approach adopted by the BJD government, which sought to pursue the initiative independently.PMRDA Initiated Second Trial Run for Pune Metro Line 3 The Pune Metro Rail Project advanced as the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) commenced the second trial run on Line 3%u2019s 4 km stretch from Maan Depot to Station PMR04. Pune Metro Line-3 is an elevated metro corridor which spans 23.3 km, designed to connect Hinjawadi with Civil Court through 23 elevated stations. The recent trial was conducted at a speed of 40 km/h to evaluate the readiness of both the track and the associated systems. Earlier this month, PMRDA successfully executed the first trial runs on Line 3 of the Pune Metro.NEWS HIGHLIGHTS
