Lucknow Metro | LMRC bags ESQR International Award in Berlin

Lucknow: In yet another recognition for its ethics and initiatives demonstrating exceptional success in quality management, Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) has been awarded with the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR) Choice Prize Award 2016 under the Gold category.

On behalf of Lucknow Metro, Daljeet Singh, Director (Works & Infrastructure), Lucknow Metro received this international award on December 12 in a function organised by the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR) in Berlin (Germany).

The ESQR’s Quality Choice Award 2016 recognises the organisations, companies, public administrations and individuals with ethics and initiatives that demonstrate exceptional success in quality management and that maximize the full potential of their services through quality oriented practices.

This event witnessed business leaders, academic experts and quality professionals from all over the world. Lucknow Metro being honoured in such a glorious way among numerous top-notch corporates at such an international forum definitely speaks volume about the quality of the work of the Corporation along with its dedicated and sustained efforts in realising a very stiff target in a time bound manner.

The European Society for Quality Research (ESQR) is an organisation headquartered in Lausanne (Switzerland). It is dedicated to quality improvement techniques, recognition and research. It recognises excellence, disseminates innovation and visionary thinking, spreads knowledge and shares conformity assessment practices.
Lucknow Metro has received many accolades, recognitions and awards from time to time for exhibiting quality construction is a stiff-target. The metro is credited to have competed 8.5 km metro corridor from Transport Nagar to Charbagh in a record time of 2 years which no other metro project across world has achieved. Also, delivery of first set of 4 metro coaches within 63 weeks of tender awarding is also an accomplishment for Lucknow metro.
In October 2015, LMRC Managing Director Kumar Keshav has also been awarded with the prestigious APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial Award for innovation in governance. The award was given to him during the APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial Summit on innovation in governance organised in New Delhi.
