MUMBAI (Metro Rail News): Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) for the Package CA-234 of f Line 4 & Line 4A of Mumbai Metro which spans 35.2 km connecting Wadala- Kasarvadavali – Gaimukh.
In February 2024, MMRDA re-invited for this contract at an estimated cost of Rs.4279.49 crores and 3723 days deadline. On 18 November 2024 technical bids were opened to announce that only 2 firms had submitted bids for the contract. Technical evaluation of the submitted bids took place on 14 Feb 2025.
The financial bids for the contract were opened on 14 Feb. The financial evaluation of the bids occurred on 19 September, however during the financial evaluation round one firm’s bid got rejected announcing L&T as the lowest bidder for the contract.

L&T will be responsible for supplying the 5 major systems under this contract. The systems have mentioned below:
- Supplying rolling stock (39 trains (234 coaches) consisting of 6 coaches)
- CBTC signaling & train control (S&T)
- Telecommunication System
- Platform screen doors (PSDs)
- Depot machinery & plant (M&P) for Mogharpada Depot.
MMRDA’s Brief Scope: Design, Manufacture, Supply, Installation, Integration, Testing and Commissioning of Rolling Stock, Communication Based Signaling & Train Control, Telecommunication, Platform Screen Doors Systems, and Depot Machinery & Plant including 15 Years of Comprehensive Maintenance After 2 Years of Defect Liability Maintenance Period of Line 4 and Extension Corridor (4A) [Wadala – Kasarvadavali – Gaimukh] of Mumbai Metro Rail Project of MMRDA.
As per the tender’s schedule, the 39 trainset has to be delivered according to the timeline mentioned below:
