MUMBAI (Metro Rail News): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will likely inaugurate the last leg of Mumbai’s first fully underground metro line (Mumbai Metro Line 3) on 30 September. The last section of Mumbai Metro Line 3 spans 10.99 km from Worli to Cuffe Parade.
Once this section is inaugurated the passenger services across the entire Colaba–Aarey corridor which spans 33.5 km will be initiated.
The Mumbai Metro Line 3 has been developed in phases. Phase 1 covered the Aarey Colony to Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) stretch which commenced operations on 7 October 2024, while the Phase 2 of Line 3 connects BKC to Worli and was launched on May 9, 2025.
Last week, CMRS initiated the inspection of the last section of Aqua Line. Once this section receives safety clearance from CMRS, the entire Mumbai Metro Line 3 will be opened for the passengers. To know more about this news: Click Here.
