KANPUR (Metro Rail News): The Kanpur Metro Project progressed as 29th and the final trainset for the Corridor 1 of Kanpur Metro has finally arrived. The Corridor 1 of Kanpur Metro spans 23.785 km from IIT Kanpur to Naubasta featuring 22 stations.

The final train was unloaded at the Gurudev Chauraha Depot on 29 September, where the 40-tonne coach was carefully placed onto the tracks using specialized heavy-duty cranes.
The trains have been manufactured at the Savli manufacturing facility in Gujarat. The next stage of procurement will bring 10 additional trainsets for Corridor-2, which will operate between CSA and Barra-8.

On the occasion, Sushil Kumar, Managing Director, UPMRC congratulated the team and said, “In total, 29 trains will serve Corridor-1, while both corridors combined will have 39 trains, each comprising three coaches. Once the corridor is extended up to Naubasta, the increased fleet will ensure a higher frequency of trains, making metro travel more seamless and convenient.” as reported by Times of India.
